The Moray Firth Coastal Partnership (MFCP) is an independent, neutral charity that aims to offer solutions to challenges in the coastal and marine environment. The organisation was set up in 1996 to become the secretariat to support the inner Moray Firth Special Area of Conservation designation that protects sandbank habitats and the Bottlenose Dolphin species. MFCP now cover both the inner and outer Moray Firth. The area incorporates 500 miles of coastline from Duncansby Head to Fraserburgh. The charity’s main activities include promoting education about the marine environment on a range of subjects – climate change, biodiversity, conservation, fisheries, coastal heritage and regional marine planning, as well as involvement in marine litter education and beach clean-ups and the collation of baseline data and research around these issues.
