The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) is an industry-led group of manufacturing research and technology facilities with the objective of de-risking innovation for industries transitioning to Industry 4.0.

Through its teams focussed on different aspects of digital manufacturing innovations, it offers essential expertise in product/process design, prototyping and innovation implementation support to businesses of any size operating in various sectors; to improve productivity, efficiency and tackle challenges facing businesses today and in the future. NMIS is also starting to develop stronger links in the fisheries and aquaculture sector, through its relationship with innovation organisations (SAIC) and supporting regional food and drink initiatives aimed at increasing opportunities to primary food producers (ONE SeedPod, HIE Food and Drink Innovation TechHub, East Ayrshire Centre of Excellence for Food). Recognising its potential impact and wealth of opportunities in Food and Drink, NMIS has appointed Dr. Dzeti Zait, Technical Development Fellow, with the expressed objective to facilitate and nurture further relationships with key stakeholders in the sector.
